Renewals

This is an excerpt from the Utah Department of Transportaton R912-9 Rule. Under this provision, and as noted within R912-9-4(4), it states:

R912-9-4. Pilot/Escort Driver Requirements.

(4) Initial certification will be valid for four years from the date of issue. One additional four-year certification may be obtained through a mail in or on-line recertification process provided by a Qualified Pilot/Escort Training Entity/Institution.

Those individuals that hold a UDOT Pilot/Escort Driver Certification prior to July 1, 2005 may not apply to obtain a renewal/recertification. When these certifications expire they can not be extended.

Those individuals that hold a UDOT Pilot/Escort Driver Certification that was issued after July 1, 2005, may apply to obtain a renewal/recertification for (1) additional 4 year period. The renewal process is complete for the "On-Line" Internet process.

The "Through the Mail" version will be available shortly for those that prefer to complete the process in this manner.

Update September 21, 2009
The program for the renewal of the Utah Department of Transportation Pilot/Escort Driver Certification is complete.

Renewal notices have been sent to those that hold a UDOT P/E Driver Certification through the end of 2009. For those that have a certification that expires in 2010, we will send the renewal notices 60 to 90 days prior to your certification expiration date. If you do not receive a notice, please give us a call and verify your mailing address. We do mail these notices to the address that is currently on file.

To start the process to renew your UDOT Pilot Escort Driver Certification, please click on the Renewal Form Tab. This will download the application. Please print this form, complete this form and either fax to the number listed on the form, or mail this to our office. When we receive this document, we will sent the materials to you with the instructions on how to complete the renewal course and process.
