Colorado Re-Certification

ELIGIBILITY:
If you meet these requirements you are eligible to complete the re-certification program.
1. Have a Colorado Certification
2. Check the certification number, if there is no R- in front of the number, you’re eligible.
3. Your card will be expiring in the next 60-90 days.
4. Your card has not been expired for more than 30 days.
5. You have not already completed a re-certification program within the last 4 years.
NOTE: Do not sign up for the program if you are not eligible. You may have to attend an on-site or online training to get certified. The fees and course are different than the re-certification program.

COURSE OPTIONS AND OVERVIEW:
Renew Online: If you choose to renew through our online process, you will login to the renewal site, watch videos, and answer test questions. This process takes between 4-6 hours. If you wish to start the program, and take a break, the program will save your progress as you go through it.
Renew with DVD: The DVD version of the renewal program consists of a DVD that can be played in a DVD player or on a computer with a DVD player, a test answer sheet, and a prepaid envelope for mailing the materials. During the operation of the DVD, the test questions will be displayed, using the test answer sheet, you will mark you answers. Once the test questions have been answered, return the answer sheet along with the DVD in the prepaid envelope.
NOTE: The online program includes a digital copy of the books that you will need to complete the program, the DVD option does not include these materials, if you have the books from 4 years ago, these will work. (You may purchase hard copies if you desire, for either course).

NOTE: These books are digitally available in the online course, the DVD course does not include these manuals, you may purchase hard copies if you do not have them from 4 years prior.

COURSE FEES:
The fee is due at the time of registration and we will not send any materials via email or mail until the fee is paid in full. The course fee is $165.00 for online or DVD version. If you wish to purchase the additional books the fee will be an additional $80.00.

REGISTRATION PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS:
You have 30 days from the date of expiration of your Colorado Pilot/Escort Certification to sign up for the re-certification. If you exceed 30 days without signing up, you will be required to attend either an on-site or online classroom training program and you will no longer be eligible for the re-certification at this time. NOTE: Your certification expires on the date it specifies on your card, the 30 days is a grace period to sign up for the re-certification and it does not extend your certification.
USPilotCar currently has your photo on file from the original course. If you are interested in placing a new photo on your card, you must submit this electronically. The requirements are the following: photo from shoulders up, the photo must be of good quality and no smaller than 2.5”x2.5” and no larger than 5”x5”, it must be submitted as a jpg. or bmp. image. You will need to email the photo to certification@uspilotcar.com. The photo needs to be a “passport” type photo and will be rejected if it’s not submitted in this format.
In order to prevent the fraudulent creation of cards we require a signature; you will need to submit this to USPilotCar prior to your Colorado DOT Pilot/Escort and Flagger Certification being mailed to you. This can be faxed, mailed, or emailed to USPilotCar.
CDOT requires that you have a current valid driver’s license. You will need to submit a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Report). Colorado requires this to be for the past 5 years and no older than 30 days. We will not send you a new certification until you submit this to our office.
